Hi! I’m Sofi Marshall, an editor with a passion for telling complex stories.
I’ve cut over 20 feature films that have screened across the US and internationally at festivals like Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, and Berlin.
I’ve also cut spots for clients like Major League Baseball, Western Union, Anheuser-Busch, and Stack Overflow, as well as media campaigns to help bring awareness to human rights issues across the globe.
My recent feature Save Yourselves! premiered at Sundance in the dramatic competition this past January. Other recent work includes Villains, which premiered at SXSW, and Chained for Life, which the New Yorker called a “cinematic revolution.”
On this site I post practical workflow articles for both novice and expert film professionals, as well as articles that detail the art of editing and filmmaking.
I also regularly write for the video collaboration platform Frame.io about post-production technology and workflow. You can find a complete catalogue of my articles right here on this site.
I’m represented by Matthew Coatsworth at UTA.
